Loughborough is a fantastic training base but I love nothing more than heading home to the North East for a weekend. Currently in a solid training block I decided to tie in a tempo workout by running the Sunderland 10k and of course it was an ideal excuse to have my Mum’s legendary Sunday Roast dinner.
It turned out to be a fantastic sunny morning with a 15,000 turn out. I put myself on the front line at the start, not sure some of the blokes were happy but I like to get in the mix! I finished a pleasing 3rd overall (first in the women’s category) Although the time wasn’t fantastic it reflected how difficult the course and conditions were and did the job of giving me a tough workout. Job done.
